how to connect with men

Posted on November 23, 2015November 23, 2015 by Teddy Jones

The challenge of connecting with men towards their personal growth and development in the Caribbean is particularly troubling. In churches across the island women outnumber men almost ubiquitously.

One of my favourite writers on the subject matter, Patrick Morley, says “So how exactly do men develop relationships? We tend to bond in shared experiences (verses shared conversations), and there’s a definite progression. You can see it in the way that Jesus built a seemingly random group of strangers into a band of brothers ready to die for their cause.”  In response to my posting that quote from him on my facebook page here are some of the comments:

I’m thinking that the journey of life really requires that we journey with others not alone. Thus relationships are fundamental. To become a man one needs other men to invest in him hopefully in positive relationships!

What are your thoughts on this? Do you have any personal stories you can share along these lines?
